Low Carbon Exchange were appointed by Hastoe to look at providing a heating upgrade solution to Tower Heights in an existing 1960's purpose built block of 71 mixed use flats.
The existing system was an economy seven storage heating system with a mix of individual electric hot water cylinders. Low Carbon Exchange looked at several specifications and upgrade proposal, all solutions had to consider, running costs, comfort levels, ease of controls, energy efficiency, SAP/EPC uplifts and the clients budget.
The favoured solutions was a complete removal and replacement of all hot water cylinders and old static storage heaters for modern Quantum electric heating and new direct unvented cylinders.
The new heating and hot water system ticked all the boxes and exceeded the clients brief, drastically improving the comfort and affordability of residents. In addition Low Carbon Exchange also installed new Hortsmann economy seven boost timers to the hot water controls ensuring the system would be used correctly without the risk of user error and high running costs
